When you’re a business leader, it’s often easy to spend so much time focusing on what you’re doing to lead your company forward that you forget the fact that you’re not alone. At Technalink, we’ve seen time and time again that those who focus on compassionate leadership and those who take the time to listen to their team and allow them to help the business and those in charge will often take their business further and with less stress than others.
When you take input from your team and use it directly to help your business grow, you’ll be enjoying huge benefits. Most notably, you’ll be getting input directly from those who are working on the ‘front lines’ of your business. You’ll not only get more information on what’s going on and what they feel could be improved, but you’ll show your team that you’re a manager or owner who believes in compassionate leadership and will improve their morale and drive to be a part of your team.
But just how can you go about getting the most from your team? A few things can help, including:
Anonymous Surveys or Suggestions – Sometimes employees just don’t feel comfortable sharing their thoughts or ideas. Give them a way to do so anonymously and you’ll be able to get better results from them every day.
Regular Meetings – Holding a regular meeting for those in your company can help everyone come together, brainstorm, and identify ideas and ways to grow and improve the business. It gives everyone a voice.
Rewards – Set up goals and benchmarks for your team. Then, encourage them to participate in discussions and planning that will help everyone meet their goals. Once those goals are met, offer rewards. This can be small things like a pizza party, or something larger like a raffle for one employee to win a gift card. Rewards can help inspire your team and show them that you care.
The main thing to remember is not to punish your team for speaking out. Instead, show them that you genuinely want their input and that part of your approach to spiritual management is to include them as part of the team. Doing so could help you build a better work environment and a better future for your business.
