Spirituality may not be a standard part of business, but it’s still an essential one. At Technalink, we believe a holistic approach is a healthy one. While there’s a time and a place for everything, ignoring something entirely, such as spirituality, is not healthy.
Some may argue that spirituality, especially with regard to activities such as meditation, is difficult to integrate into a traditional office setting. The truth, however, is that meditation can occur just about anywhere, even at your desk.
Almost Ideal
An upright sitting position is one of the better postures to maintain for meditation. The reason for this is that the position hits the sweet spot between being relaxed and alert enough to maintain focus. Both relaxation and the ability to focus and concentrate are essential traits in successful meditation, so sitting at a desk is already convenient for this.
However, one of the best things about meditation is that it doesn’t require a lot of preparation or time to participate. Meditation can last as long as an hour or several! It can be as brief as just five minutes, sometimes even less.
Do It Your Way
Of course, different business environments will have different personal circumstances for you, so try to find the meditation method that works for you. Whether that’s sneaking in a quick few minutes at your desk cubicle or using an app for a guided session in your office, you can tailor meditation sessions to fit your needs and schedule.
You can also choose to do it all by yourself or use additional tools, such as apps for a more guided experience or physical accessories like garnet prayer stones for additional tactile focus and reinforcement. The great thing about meditation is that it is a personal experience, which means you should configure it to meet your needs and preferences.
