At Technalink we prioritize compassionate soulful leadership, but we know that sometimes challenges can arise that make this difficult. Soulful and compassionate leadership is a journey, and it’s something that you’ll continue to progress in throughout your professional life. The Covid-19 pandemic has been an exceptional and unprecedented challenge for all professionals, which can make prioritizing your compassionate leadership even more difficult at times.
Coincidentally, while compassionate leadership might be more challenging now, it’s also more important. People may be stressed, afraid, overtaxed, and anxious, and this might include you as well. In order to get the most from your team, conscious leadership is more important than ever. Leading consciously means considering your leadership and your compassion at every turn, and actively trying to align your vibration with those around you in a way that allows you to truly lead instead of being a “boss”. With conscious leadership, your team will flourish even in the most difficult of times.
One way to remember your conscious leadership throughout the pandemic is to practice self-awareness first. Look into your own mirror of authenticity through meditation breaks and use this opportunity to simply sit back and observe yourself. This can be done either in the moment or at the end of the day, and as you make your observations reserve any opinion on them until you’re finished your session. Practicing this type of self-awareness gives you an opportunity to see areas where you can do better, and where your compassionate leadership can improve going forward.
Embracing innovation and curiosity is always important, but even more so during these uncertain times. Things are changing, and change is one major cause of anxiety for many in their personal and professional lives. Embracing innovation and curiosity shows your team that you’re open to their ideas and that you want them to be as comfortable as possible during this period of change. Ambition is often showed through innovation, and by embracing innovation within your team you’re also embracing an uptick in ambitious attitudes and personalities.
Compassionate leaders can embrace the change that comes along with this unprecedented event, and they can use these changes to further improve their compassionate leadership skills. No leader is perfect, and it’s important to remember that soulful leadership as a whole is a journey that one chooses to embark on.
