Even for the most skilled or experienced spiritual entrepreneur, making decisions can be difficult. You want to do the right thing, but that right thing isn’t always clear, and you’re left in a position where you’re mentally juggling all possibilities and outcomes of what you choose. At Technalink we believe that compassionate leadership through meditation can make decision making easier, but it may not solve all decision-making difficulties straight away. 4 tips for making better decisions at work for the compassionate leader are:
1. Focus is key – This is where meditation with mala prayer beads really comes in handy when making decisions. When trying to decide, you’re probably listening to a lot of ambient noise in your mind that you don’t immediately realize. This ambient noise is clogging and fogging your mindset and actually making the decision process more difficult for you. Through meditation, one can clear their mind and focus on what is really important.
2. Use your head and gut – With many decisions, you’ll feel a natural instinct on the right path to choose almost straight away. What you want to do is use what your head and your gut is telling you and compare the feelings to come to a middle ground. For instance, evaluate your gut feeling with logic and determine why your instinct was pointing you in that direction in the first place.
3. Use a pros and cons list – This simple method is an effective one, which is likely why it’s so popular. Listing the pros and cons of all of your options can clear the air and point you in a clear direction.
4. Have a plan B – Even when making a clear and informed decision, not everything always goes to plan. For any decision you make, have a plan B waiting in the wings just in case something goes wrong.
