How to Meditate to Kickstart Your Day

October 7, 2022 by Alka Dhillon Leave a Comment

How to Meditate to Kickstart Your Day A great way to kickstart your day and start on a more positive note is through meditation. It is a mindfulness practice that allows us to focus on specific objects or thoughts. It is a great way to train the mind, our thoughts, and awareness and allows us to achieve a clearer state of mind and improved emotional state of being.

Can You Spare Five Minutes?

Meditation only takes about five minutes daily, so it can be easily incorporated into even the busiest routines. Start by finding a quiet and peaceful place to sit down and relax. A quiet place will help calm your mind. Close your eyes and pay close attention to your breathing.

Slowly inhale and hold your breath for a count of five before exhaling. As you do this, visualize all the tension leaving your body as you meditate—from your head to your feet. Concentrate on each breath you take while releasing all your stress.

Focus the Mind

Meditation helps clear the mind so you can focus on being. As thoughts come into your head, acknowledge them and then let them go. Return your focus to the present moment. Continue following these steps for five minutes, and you will feel relaxed, refreshed, and ready to tackle your day.

A Few Tips

When meditating, you want to make the most out of your time, even if it is just five minutes. So, before you start, make sure you have a quiet retreat and sit comfortably. Sitting awkwardly makes your mind focus on the discomfort, which distracts you from your meditation.

You can also play soft meditation music in the background or use aromatherapy to enhance your experience. Since meditation can reverse a stress response and turn into long-term resilience, you want to practice frequently.

As you go on, try to fit in longer meditation sessions when you have more available time. Doing this will greatly impact your five-minute sessions during the week when you are short on time will greatly impact you.

What Next?

After your morning meditation, you can incorporate other calming activities into your routine for additional moments of stillness and tranquility. For example, try taking a walk after meditation and unplug from your phone for a bit. This allows you to be more present with yourself and your surroundings and gives you more time with your thoughts.

Stop and smell the roses as they say. Take some time for daydreaming and repeat your affirmations and manifestations before returning home to get on with your day.
