Do You Use Music In Your Meditation?

January 15, 2021 by Alka Dhillon Leave a Comment

Do You Use Music In Your Meditation? Stress is a serious problem in today’s society, and this has never been truer than throughout the year 2020. Women in business are struggling with their regular hurdles alongside anything new the pandemic has brought to the business world, balancing leadership, families, home school, and keeping healthy while trying not to over-stress in the process. Many find that these emotional factors can make meditation difficult, but music can be the perfect cleansing tool to bring you closer to your center before the start of a restorative and balancing session. With mala prayer beads in hand, choosing your playlist can mean the difference between a session where you simply can’t find the focus and one that leaves you feeling like you can handle anything.

At Technalink, we encourage our teams to use whatever means necessary to cleanse their minds and prepare for meditation, including choosing that perfect meditation playlist. If you’ve never created your own meditation playlist, a few tips for selecting the ideal tracks are:

• Focus on your moods – What mood are you trying to manifest? What vibration do you want to align yourself with? These are the top two questions you should be asking yourself as you set out to create your meditation playlist. Choose categories that make you feel a certain way, and you can even use this method to create multiple playlists for different meditative goals.

• Try binaural sounds – Binaural sounds and beats refer to compositions that play different sounds in each ear. These sounds have been linked to lowering feelings of tension and anxiety, and they’re an ideal choice for those who are trying to ease anxious feelings before settling in for a meditation session.

• Incorporate visualization – If you’re planning to meditate in the office, or on a train during your commute, this might not be your ideal meditation setting. However, you have the power to create any setting you please right in your own mind. Nature sounds that bring you to a warm sandy beach, a lush green forest, or on top of a crisp mountain allow you to transport yourself at will, aligning your vibration to whichever magical location that makes you feel most peaceful.

If you find it difficult to “get away from it all” and enjoy meditation throughout your day, your playlist is a useful tool. With a pair of headphones, you can bring yourself back to center and transport your mind to anywhere in the world.
