Could Mindful Meditation Give You A Health Boost?

Could Mindful Meditation Give You A Health Boost? During this time of year, with colds, flus, and viruses lingering, it’s important to look after your health. Stress is well known to suppress the immune system, and looking after your complete well being is important to your everyday health. Your mental, spiritual, and physical health are all connected, going together to create what your overall well being really is. When you allow one of these aspects to slip, you’ll quickly see the rest of them slipping right along with it. When you’re mind is stressed, you’ll feel it in your body, and your spiritual entrepreneurship will suffer. When your body is stressed, it places stress on your mind, and then your spirit in turn.

Mindful meditation can really work to connect your mind, body, and spirit; repairing you from all sides to ensure you’re giving yourself your best possible chance at truly better health. At Technalink, we not only praise meditation for what it does for mental health, or spiritual health, but what it does for your physical health as well.

Mental and physical stress cause the body to overproduce the hormone cortisol. This cortisol release is what causes many of the uncomfortable physical effects of stress, such as widespread inflammation throughout the body. In an eight week study by Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland, it was found that mindful meditation works to release the physical effects of stress, and thereby reduced the widespread inflammation that comes along with it.

Sleep is important for the body, and this is something that just about everyone has learned firsthand at one point or another in their lives. When you have a bad night of sleep, you’ll feel it all throughout the next day as you experience brain fog, slowness, lack of patience, headaches, digestive upset, and more. Mindful meditation helps to teach you how to clear your mind, and it takes away the overproduction of cortisol in the body, helping you to get to sleep faster and stay asleep. This doesn’t mean you have to meditate before bed, but regular meditation throughout the day can provide benefits that lead well into the night.

With mindful meditation, we can take better care of our bodies, helping to keep ourselves in better balance overall. It’s something that anyone can do, and mindful meditation makes a surprisingly dramatic positive change very quickly.
