How To Meditate At Your Work Desk for Stress ReliefWe all have those exhausting days when our workload makes us want to drop our heads onto our desks and raising a white flag. Work can be draining at times, and we at Technalink completely understand that. However, there are more productive ways of managing stress and regaining energy. Meditation is an art that is designed to improve one’s concentration, relieve stress, and boost productivity. While most think meditation can only be done within the comforts of one’s home or a yoga studio, one can actually meditate no matter where they are, that’s right, even on a work desk. Here, we’ll discuss techniques you can use to effectively meditate from your work station.

Focus On Your Breathing

One of the basic steps to effective meditation is through rhythmic breathing. On your free time at work, or before a meeting you’ve been stressing over, sit comfortably on the floor, close your eyes, and begin breathing deeply. Focus and count your breaths, paying close attention to how you breathe in and breathe out. For this period, forget about everything you’ve been worrying about and just focus on breathing. Continue you to do this for 3-5 minutes depending on how much time you have to meditate, open your eyes, and enjoy your new-found clarity and relief.

Tend To Your Senses

One terrible thing about the whirlwind of stress work puts us through sometimes is that we’re desensitized from enjoying the little joys we have at work, especially our meals. One easy way to meditate from your work desk (or your lunch area) is by savoring and taking the time to enjoy your meals. Sit down, eat your food slowly, and focus on the flavors and textures your meal has to offer. This simple yet effective practice not only allows you to thoroughly enjoy your lunch break, but it also grounds you and makes you feel more present.

Trust In Crystals And Stones

One of the easiest ways you can take in good energy and expel bad energy from your work desk is through the power of healing crystals and stones. You can purchase small pebbles or go for something as intricate as prayer beads, and have them on hand at your work station for whenever you need to meditate. You can use these crystals and stones to enhance how you usually like to meditate at work, or meditate through them directly.
