How Can I Motivate My Team Positively?

July 17, 2017 by Alka Dhillon Leave a Comment

How Can I Motivate My Team Positively? Motivation is one of your most powerful tools in spiritual management, and this goes for motivating others as well as motivating yourself. Keeping your team motivated helps them to reach their full potential, and it pays to know how to motivate positively. Positive motivation will bring about all the drive with none of the pressure, and create an organic sense of true motivation that maximizes the quality in which goals are met.

Open-Ended Questions

One way to positively motivate is with open-ended questions. Making your team think, bringing in active communication, and allowing them their say to express themselves can really help to motivate and inspire all at once. During meetings, brainstorming sessions, or simple in-office communication, have thoughtful open-ended questions pertaining to projects or goals ready and present them to your team in an open discussion. As their minds get working to answer your question, they’ll be naturally inspired to put their ideas to the test.

Using Meditation

Reserved times for meditation for you and your team can also help to positively motivate, and that’s not all. Meditation has been proven to reduce stress levels, lessen anxiety, curb depression, and clear the mind; so you’re not just motivating, you’ll be helping to improve their inner being overall. Setting aside anywhere from a simple 10 to 20 minute period somewhere within the day for quiet and mindful meditation is not only a sign of a true compassionate leader, but one that knows the type of potential they hold within their team, and what that potential has the ability to achieve.

Open Brainstorming Sessions Without The Pressure

Scheduled brainstorming meetings can put unnecessary pressure on your team, leaving them in a position where they may not feel up to organically coming up with their best ideas. Rather than having rigid brainstorming meetings, welcome open and casual brainstorming sessions where team members can meet and share ideas organically without the pressure of having to have the perfect idea at the perfect time. New ideas are the key to innovation, and soulful leadership often means allowing these new ideas to come as they come naturally.

Motivate You First

You can’t expect to keep your team motivated without also feeling motivated yourself, so make sure to take some time to get yourself going before you look to inspire. When you have a motivated atmosphere established, you and your team can work off of one another to keep the inspiration going!
