Seven Signs That Your Team Has A High Degree Of TrustIf I was to choose the most important factor in any organization, it is trust. Trust is a crucial component of effective leadership. When our team trusts us, we can influence and inspire them to achieve both company goals and their career goals. A high degree of trust ensures your team is loyal, committed, and engaged. Trust helps facilitate collaboration and teamwork, creating a positive organizational culture where people feel valued, respected, and supported. Here are seven signs that your organization fosters a high degree of trust among your team:

1. There Is Open And Honest Communication

If team members communicate openly and honestly with each other and with leadership, it’s a sign they are comfortable expressing their opinions and ideas and listening actively to others; both are a sign of a high level of trust.

2. Your Team Is Always Reliable

No matter the deliverables, if your team consistently follows through on their commitments and delivers on their promises, they are trusted to do their part and meet their responsibilities.

3. There Is Full Transparency Even On Problems

When your team is always transparent about their actions, decisions, and intentions, they trust that they can be honest about their strengths and weaknesses. They will not hide their mistakes or failures.

4. Your Team Collaborates Together

When there is a high degree of trust, your team works together effectively and supports each other’s success. They are willing to lend a hand and help each other out when needed because they trust their team will be there for them as well.

5. Your Team Provides Valuable Feedback

If your team both provides constructive criticism and takes it in a positive and productive manner, they trust the team and leadership to be honest and receptive.

6. Your Team Is Always Respectful

If your team always respects each other’s differences and values each other’s contributions, they trust one another. Further, when there is trust, they’ll treat each other with kindness and professionalism at all times.

7. There Is Cohesion Among The Team

Teams with a high degree of trust share a common goal and work together to achieve it. This creates a sense of unity and cohesion that helps them overcome challenges and obstacles.

Cultivating trust in the modern workplace can be a challenge. So if these seven signs do not describe your organization, don’t worry. Building trust at your organization is possible with intention. I lay out all the tips and tools you need in my book The OM Factor, now also available on audiobook. You’ll learn how to earn trust as a leader and how to inspire your team to trust one another.
