Mindfulness is a crucial element of good meditation that Technalink always advocates for. However, there is more than one way to reach a state of mindfulness, and many people achieve this regularly without even being aware of it. When you are deeply interested in something or fascinated with it, you are in a state of mindfulness.
Focused On The Present
Mindfulness, after all, is the ability to push other thoughts and distractions to the side and be fully engaged in the present. For many of us, this is something we frequently and regularly achieved as children, when we played with a toy, or became interested in a form of entertainment, such as a favorite book or film. In such moments, we became wholly focused on what we were doing or paying attention to. If you’ve ever stopped reading a book, watching a movie, or playing a game, and realized you had no idea just how much time had passed, you’ve been in this state.
Few people realize this is mindfulness, because they are so focused on the item of interest and enjoying themselves. However, it’s a misconception to think that mindfulness can only be achieved through divesting yourself of other thoughts and ideas, and developing a strict technique and discipline to empty your mind.
Remember, the goal of mindfulness is not to control your thoughts or empty your mind of thoughts, but to simply focus on the present and what is happening now. Fascination is one of the easiest ways for people to do this, although there are other methods of achieving it. Some people may need to experiment with other tools, such as mala prayer beads or other accessories. Whatever the case may be with you, remember that mindfulness is a personal experience, and there are different ways to achieve it, including ways that you may enjoy.
