Soulful leadership is compassionate leadership, and every leader is on their own journey to becoming a more compassionate leader every day. At Technalink we believe that one’s journey to spiritual leadership is never over, and there are always ways to improve, grow, and expand these skills throughout your career and your life. Today’s spiritual entrepreneur can do so many little things to improve their compassionate leadership skills in as little as a day, and 4 ways you can show compassion in your leadership tomorrow are:
1. Do a well-being checkup – When was the last time you checked in with your team about their personal, emotional, or mental well-being? A simple question can mean a lot and do a lot in building worthwhile and meaningful connections. A simple well-being checkup puts your finger on the pulse of how your team is really feeling.
2. Praise publicly – A little praise can go a long way, and it’s really a simple way to show meaningful compassion on a day-to-day basis. When a team member does something great, let them know it and how much the team appreciates their efforts. A small reward for a job well done, like garnet meditation stones, can act as an excellent motivator as well.
3. Encourage constructive criticism of your leadership skills – Constructive criticism is a valuable resource. It gives you perspectives you wouldn’t otherwise have, showing you where you can use improvement in your compassionate leadership strategies. Encourage feedback from your team either via face-to-face meetings or anonymously with notes or suggestion cards.
4. Offer your help – If you typically divvy out tasks and oversee those tasks, maybe it’s time to get your hands dirty. Getting into the thick of projects is a great way to build authentic connections with your team as you really get to know what it is everyone is doing to move the team closer to joined goals.
