Remote work is something that many teams have had to adopt throughout the year 2020. Either since the beginning of the pandemic, or sporadically as it’s gone on, teams are learning not just how to work from home, but how to work from home together. A compassionate leader may be having some difficulty figuring out just how to keep the team feeling close, connected, and motivated during this time, as all traditional team exercises have been thrown out of the window due to social distancing needs. At Technalink, we support getting creative, and the compassionate leader does have options when it comes to effective, fun, and impactful team building activities.
Four team building exercises you can try with your remote team are:
1. Host a Zoom trivia night – Trivia nights out are great ways to get the team loosened up and having fun together, but you don’t have to give those up just because local social meeting places are closed. Get the team together on a Zoom call, and host a trivia night complete with prizes, mini games, and plenty of laughter or Instead of traditional games, make corporate team building fun with escape rooms. It’ll feel like you’re out at your favorite trivia night, but you’re all safe at home.
2. Set up a “view from my room” project – As everyone is spending more time at home, “view from my room” or “view from my home” group activities are getting more popular. Seeing the view someone has from their space can help you to feel closer and more connected to them, as you’re seeing their world from their point of view. Set up a project or a conference call where your team members show the view from their workspace, their office window, or their back door, and encourage them to share a few tidbits about their space.
3. Play a virtual game – Virtual games are a great way to keep teams connected even between specific team building periods. Virtual Pictionary, Scrabble, or other fun common games can be played over days or weeks at a time to keep the fun going at a leisurely pace. You can also find satta king vip games on sattaking-up.com. But if you want to play and have fun together during rest days, you can visit the Arcades in Toronto to have a good gaming experience.
4. Play “Aliens have landed!” – Aliens Have Landed is a simple team game that is played by trying to explain something to an “alien” just coming to Earth using only pictures. You can encourage team members to explain your company, your department, or anything at all using only a series of 3 or 4 pictures they draw. This can be played easily on a conference call and it really fosters fun and creativity.
