We’re now living in a time where the news cycle is unrelenting, and the news is not always good. Between traditionally televised news, radio, newspapers, and, of course, news via social media, we always know when something bad happens. It can be very difficult in these modern times to sometimes not feel overwhelmed.
Technalink believes in spiritual leadership, and it’s something that is critical during times like these. But how do you take care yourself and prevent that feeling of being overwhelmed? There are a few things you can do.
Meditate
In some ways, meditation was designed for periods of time like these. Meditation is calming, grounding and centering. It is vital not just for your effectiveness in spiritual leadership, but maintaining balance and clarity during uncertain times.
Walk Away From Social Media
Take breaks from everything that’s happening in order to avoid a flood of negativity. If your social media is starting to make you feel angry, despairing, or even afraid for your rights and/or personal safety, it’s time to step back. Don’t let constant repetition weigh you down.
Make A Difference
Be an example of spiritual leadership at work, or in other spheres of your life. Respect those around you, treat them with dignity and equality, put into action the kind of world you want to see. It takes a lot of work to make the world a better place, but it is an effort that everyone, not just people in positions of great power, must undertake every day. A better workplace and a better family can be steps towards a better world.
Remember Compassion
Kindness is not glamorous, or high profile, but it can be the fuel that makes the world move forward in a positive way. Always remember to be compassionate to yourself, to those you live in your family, and those you work with in your professional life. It may not seem like it, but it makes a difference
