Creativity creates progress, and it’s what sets you apart in the business realm. Your employees are creative and talented, and tapping into this reservoir of creativity and talent can take a little inspiration. As the leader, it’s your job to inspire them to work to their best potential, and there are some tips you can use to inspire creativity in any one of your employees! 5 ways to inspire creativity in your employees are:
- Let them change it up – By either working in a co-working space, at home, in a coffee shop, or somewhere else remotely, a change of scenery every once in a while can do wonders for creative minds. The new sights and sounds will inspire their creative center, and the idea juices will flow with abundance!
- Create a forum – An online forum where your employees can bounce ideas off of one another, or simply get to know each other, can also really help in the creativity department. Rarely does the best idea come at a certain time, and this can allow them to share and develop their ideas in real time regardless of where they are or what time of day it may be.
- Go casual – With the office layout, with meetings, or with how you interact with one another, keeping things casual is keeping things comfortable, and when people are comfortable, they’re often at their most creative. Eliminating etiquette anxieties is eliminating the barriers that may be stopping their true creativity from flowing.
- Encourage photo sharing of ideas – A picture says a thousand words, right? Well, using your forums or meetings, encourage employees to take and share photos of things they like. Elements of design, places, atmospheres, and anything that catches their eye can be fair game for sparking that fire of creativity in their minds.
- Schedule brainstorming – Brainstorming with no real pressure can be a great way to build creativity from one another, and 1 or 2 brain storming sessions of around 30 to 45 minutes per week is a great way to inspire creativity. Make sure to keep the brainstorming sessions relaxed and with an element of fun, so employees feel comfortable sharing, developing, and bouncing their ideas.
Creation leads to innovation, and creativity is one of the most sought after traits of any great employee. To inspire creativity is to inspire their mind to work freely and comfortably, which is something that any leader can do in any sort of workplace.
