How to Keep Your Team Motivated and Productive During the Holidays

How to Keep Your Team Motivated and Productive During the HolidaysThe holiday season is always a busy one. Between personal and professional affairs, everyone has a lot of things to do and attend to. Your staff probably also have parties and gatherings that they’re looking forward to. They also have a lot of commitments and their holiday to-do lists are probably long.
It’s one thing to be busy and another to be wishing that they can just rest and relax. After all, it’s a season to enjoy with family and friends. However, everyone in your team, including you, needs to continue working despite the season.

Of course, there will be days that everyone will be on a break, but what do you do in the days that they aren’t? As a leader, how do you motivate your staff to stay productive despite all of the holiday distractions? At the same time, how do you make sure that their well being is also prioritized?

Here are some tips to keep your team motivated and productive during the holidays.

1. Recognize your employees’ hard work.

If you want to keep your team motivated, you need to show them that their hard work is not for naught. It may be a challenge for everyone to stay focused during the holidays, but letting your people know that their work is recognized will mean a lot to them.

A gesture as simple as giving them personalized thank you notes with some token designed to promote well being, will surely be appreciated.

2. Provide free food and treats.

Your employees probably wish they could just stay at home and have more time enjoying the spirit of the holidays outside of work. However, because they’re loyal to you and their job, they still report to work. You can give back by bringing free food and treats to the office. It’ll be like having your mini holiday party at the office!

3. Offer flexible hours.

If you still haven’t, then you may consider offering flexible hours at least during the holidays. If your employees know that they can go home earlier as long as their tasks are done, they’ll probably be more than willing to do so.

4. Organize an employee appreciation meal.

At Technalink, we believe that a simple employee appreciation meal with everyone dining together to chat and unwind is one of the best ways to show your staff that more than finished jobs, you also care a lot about their well being. It’s important that you dine with your employees to make them feel you are one of them.
