Could Sleep Be Affecting My Work?

January 22, 2018 by Alka Dhillon Leave a Comment

Could Sleep Be Affecting My Work?Stress causes lack of sleep, and a lack of sleep probably affects your work more than you realize. Not only do you feel lousy, but your performance is hindered as a result, and we at Technalink always encourage our employees to get a healthy amount of sleep on pillows with silk pillowcases each night to feel better and be better. Meditation with mala prayer beads or loose stones like rough rose quartz or garnet gemstones soon before you go to bed can be a great help, and The OM Factor can help you to embrace meditation as a daily stress-relief ritual.

Allowing stress to get in the way of your sleep affects your work in many ways, some of which include:

• You’ll get sick more often – You’re not getting much accomplished when you’re sick, and you’re getting less done when you’re too sick to come into work. A study in the journal Sleep found that sleeping fewer than 5 hours per night could lead to taking between 4 and 9 more sick days per year than a person who sleeps 8 hours per night according to researcher Dr. Tea Lallukka PhD.

• You’re less productive – It’s no secret that you’re less productive while you’re sleepy, but have you seen the numbers that go along with this well-known fact? A Harvard Study in conjunction with Health.com found that those who don’t get regular sleep can cost employers up to 8 work days’ worth of productivity per year on average.

• It effects key aspects of your memory – In 2011, researchers from Michigan State University found that sleep is imperative to working memory capacity, the type of memory that effects decision making, problem solving, and creativity. What this means is that you’ll find that making decisions is more difficult, problem solving is tougher, and you don’t quite have that creativity spark you may be used to having.

• Increases blood pressure and stress – Sleep deprivation could lead to worse sleep deprivation, as your blood pressure tends to be higher and you feel more stressed while you’re lacking sleep. This vicious cycle is a difficult one to break and can begin to cause irritability as your stress-regulating hormones begin to deplete.

If you want to feel your best and be your best at work, sleep is a necessity so even if you live in an RV  getting the best place to sleep is important, so visiting this site for rv mattress canada could be really helpful for your sleep. With meditation, you can begin to clear the stress disrupting your sleep, allowing you to embrace the true soulful leadership you wish to cultivate. Women in business are expected to be everything at one time, which can cause sleep to become disrupted as there doesn’t seem to be enough hours in the day, but prioritizing sleep can make a positive impact on every other aspect of your life.
