The Art of Spiritual Management

February 22, 2017 by Alka Dhillon Leave a Comment

The Art of Spiritual Management What kind of leader are you? What kind of approach to management do you take? At Technalink, we think that these are two questions any business leader needs to ask themselves. They can each have a profound impact on the overall success of your company and on how effective you are at leading it into the future.

One type of management approach worth considering is spiritual management. While it might sound strange at first, the reality is that mastering this skill is something well worth doing and something that can directly lead to a wide range of long term benefits for your company.

The first step is simply figuring out what spiritual management is. At its most basic, this refers to nothing more than the act of using spirituality to help guide you in business – and promoting the use of spirituality by your employees. Spiritual leadership can help you:

  • Reduce your stress
  • Make clear decisions
  • Find confidence
  • Stay focused on your goals
  • Treat employees with more respect
  • Build stronger morale
  • Improve teamwork
  • Foster a caring culture in the workplace
  • Provide significant pride

In short, spiritual leaders are better able to help their company, their employees, and themselves thrive in today’s competitive marketplace.

But it’s not always easy to become a spiritual leader. In fact, this type of leadership is more of an art than it is a skill, and taking time to master it is important. There are a few tips that can help you bring spirituality in the workplace, however. Here are a few things worth remembering.

  • Explain to your employees what your focus is on and how you believe in allowing each of them to embrace their spirituality as individuals.
  • Set aside periods of time each day for prayer, meditation, or personal reflection. This can be as little as 4 or 5 minutes in the afternoon or morning, and even a short block of time can recharge the minds and spirits of you and your team.
  • Offer mala prayer beads or other meditation beads to your team. These can help guide them and center them during meditation.
  • Be there for your employees. If they need you, it’s important that they know they can come to you for guidance and leadership. Try to lead by example, using your spirituality to guide youth through each day.

These simple tips can help ensure that you are able to embrace spirituality and bring it to the workplace every day. Keep them in mind, and a stronger future for your business may be on the horizon.
