Technalink has been fortunate enough to blend spiritual practices with business operations, and while no one would say this is easy, it’s not impossible. A spiritual entrepreneur can enrich their soul and that of their employees while still taking actions that can lead to success. It’s just a matter of knowing what traits a spiritual entrepreneur needs and taking the time to cultivate them. By putting these five traits into practice, people can operate their businesses as spiritual entrepreneurs and cultivate both spiritual and financial success.
Focus On Intention
It is important to do things, but it is crucial to understand why we are doing things. The intentions we have during the day, and for larger ambitions such as career or business goals, ultimately inform our actions. Are we acting because it is the right thing to do, or because it is the easy thing to do? Are we choosing not to provide aid because there is no personal benefit? Are we choosing to assist because of a desire to help?
Periodically interrogating ourselves about our intentions is an important part of both spiritual and business practices.
Remember Gratitude
It is important to be conscious of—and engage with—the gratitude we have for things in our lives. Too often, people focus on the things they don’t have, the things that may be going wrong, and ignore, to their detriment, the many things that are going their way right now. Be mindful of the good things in your life and maintain gratitude for them; this can influence your actions.
Retain Open-mindedness
Keeping an open mind is another one of those traits with both spiritual and business benefits. Nothing in business or life is static. Things change, circumstances evolve, and new things will be visible on the horizon, coming your way. Staying open-minded about these things lets you take advantage of new opportunities that might not have been available to you if you were closed off to them. Not wanting to meet new people, for example, can limit your personal and business growth possibilities.
Embrace Evolution
Being open-minded is important, and a critical follow-up to this is being willing to take action with that open-mindedness. Evolution is about change, which, for spiritual entrepreneurs, can be an invaluable trait to have both personally and professionally. It is not enough to be aware of changes in the environment and circumstances; you must be willing to accommodate the changes needed to navigate them.
For example, attending a seminar that shows you ineffective habits you have and effective ones that can improve you, will only be beneficial if you are willing to evolve. By shedding those parts of your routine that don’t work and embracing new habits that will improve your performance, you are manifesting better benefits for yourself.
Developing Mindfulness
One of the cornerstones of spiritual practice can be essential for spiritual entrepreneurs: developing the ability to enter a state of mindfulness. On the surface, mindfulness seems like the easiest thing in the world to do, since it is essentially focusing your mind on the present and keeping your awareness rooted in the here and now.
In reality, however, mindfulness can be quite challenging for some people who are used to daydreaming or getting lost in thought, rather than pushing everything else aside to focus only on the present and immediate sensations, such as breathing. Meditation is one of the most popular ways to develop this trait, but it can be practiced in many situations.
If you’d like to know more about these traits, The Om Factor: A Woman’s Spiritual Guide To Leadership is available in print, digital, and audiobook formats. This book shows you how one woman undertook her journey to become a spiritual entrepreneur and how you can do the same.
