Mental balance is critical to a healthy work/life balance. In The OM Factor, this topic comes up time and again. Now on audiobook, you can get back in touch with your balanced mental state from anywhere, but how do you know where your own mental state stands in the first place? How do you know how far you have to go, or what you need to do, to get yourself back into a healthy state of balance?
The best way to determine where your mental state is, and how balanced you are, is to be unafraid of checking in with yourself. This means taking an authentic look within, and seeing just what your well-being is really like. You can do this through meditation with mala prayer beads focused on balance and centeredness.
If you find that your mental well-being could take some TLC, there are a few things you can do to get yourself to where you need to be. These are:
• Build a support system – Having a support system for your own mental well-being is an excellent way to keep yourself on track, keep yourself accountable, and feel supported along your journey. Your support system can be comprised of people in your professional life, personal life, or a bit of both.
• Focus on long-term goals – One way to really address your mental balance is to focus on long-term goals and not focus solely on the here and now. Longer-term mental balance will ensure your efforts are long lasting, and you’ll be prepared to face those times when your life feels “out of control” in the future. When you’re already in a state of unbalance mentally, you’re already fighting an uphill battle. Having long-term goals in mind makes this far less likely to occur.
• Practice self-care – Mental balance can be as simple as taking a little time out for yourself. When our minds are in a constant state of anxiety, work, or “fight”, this makes achieving mental balance impossible. Treat yourself kindly, give yourself something you love every once in a while, and prioritize yourself as you’d prioritize any other thing in your personal or professional life.
At Technalink, we know that we can only get the best from our teams when they’re feeling balanced, healthy, and inspired. By addressing your own mental health balance, you can ensure these feelings for yourself.
