Strategies For Better Investing Your Time

March 4, 2024 by Alka Dhillon Leave a Comment

Strategies For Better Investing Your Time How often do you think to yourself “I wish there were more hours in the day.” In The OM Factor, now on audiobook, there’s a passage about how today’s women in business are expected to be able to do it all. Busy days happen, but there are time investments you can make to take better care of your emotional well-being while still getting the most done. A few strategies for better investing your time include:

  • Automate where you can – Today’s technology can sometimes be a distraction, but more often than not, it’s an opportunity. At Technalink we love the way automation can help to make better time investment easier. Using your smartphone, you can set easy reminders to keep you on track. You can securely take care of banking while on the train or in the back of a car on the way to a meeting. You can book an entire trip in the course of just a couple of minutes. Where you can, allow technology to help you to shave a few moments off of those errands or mundane tasks.
  • Set aside time to plan a routine and stick to it – We can free up time by better using the time we do have to do those necessary everyday tasks. Set aside a few moments to draft up a routine plan that focuses on time saving and dedicate yourself to this routine to benefit from a better streamlined experience.
  • Plan your priorities – While you’re planning a streamlined routine, take a little more time to make a rough draft of what your week should look like. Prioritize the most important tasks and set yourself up to streamline the most important parts of your days. It might take a few extra moments, but it can wind up saving you hours throughout the course of the week.
  • Set aside time for health – Physical and mental well-being is important. When you’re not feeling your best, you’re unable to operate at your best, and an inability to operate at your best will leave you sluggish, foggy, or disorganized. Investing time into your wellness through mindful meditation and self-care is another investment that takes a little time to potentially save you much more.

The pressure to do it all can put women in business, or anyone in business, into a toxic cycle. This cycle can lead to anxiety, stress-related symptoms, and it makes compassionate leadership difficult. While wise time investment is important, it’s equally important to be gentle and understanding with yourself if some days you’re simply unable to juggle it all. Each day is a new day, and every day is an opportunity to be the best compassionate leader you can be.
