Mindfulness Is A Way To Cultivate Control

Mindfulness Is A Way To Cultivate ControlTechnalink has always understood the importance of having a sense of control. But in some ways, people may not be aware that they don’t have as much control over themselves as they’d like to think. Many people believe that their minds are a domain where they retain a great deal of control, since they can think about whatever they like, but the reality is that the thoughts often control the person and not the other way around.

Mindfulness Points Out The Perspective

Mindfulness is the technique of focusing your awareness on the present. Some people may think there is nothing easier, but if you stop and look at your own thoughts and internal activities, how often are your thoughts determining their own direction while you react to them? How often do you deliberately focus and steer your thoughts towards goals and intentions you have?

Most people don’t realize that the majority of their time spent thinking is merely reacting to what their thoughts are doing to them, and not the other way around. Mindfulness is a fast, direct “tool” to counteract this by giving you an immediate goal and focus. Mindfulness in meditation is about concentrating on the moment, the present, and paying active attention to it, observing it.

Similar to breathing exercises, mindfulness is always accessible, and you don’t need to use any special equipment or have high-level expertise in order to do it. You just need to be willing to divert your attention away from your thoughts and direct your concentration on what is happening in the here and now. By doing this, you take control of your thoughts and provide them with an intention and direction.

If you’re interested in practicing meditation and mindfulness, look into what styles and possibly what tools, such as mala prayer beads, might be helpful for your goals. Everyone takes a different path toward this goal.
