What is well-being? In short, your well-being can be defined as your comfort, health, or happiness. To take care of your well-being is to make sure you feel at ease with yourself, and that you’re cared for in a way that positively impacts the way you feel on a day-to-day basis. At Technalink, we encourage well-being check-ins for our teams, to ensure that stress, anxiety, or toxic ambition don’t take over and jeopardize well-being without being noticed.
Signs Your Well-Being Is Positive
If you have a positive well-being, and you’re giving yourself the balance and care you deserve, you may notice:
- You’re interested in learning new things – Life is all about experiences and exploring all that the world has to offer. Those with a healthy and balanced well-being will take to this natural instinct. They’ll want to learn new things, have new experiences, and enjoy what the world has surrounded them with.
- You have goals – When your self is cared for, your mind and body will naturally look to other challenges to keep you engaged and moving forward. If you find yourself excited to brainstorm your next achievement, this is a great sign that your well-being is cared for and in a healthy state.
- You’re thinking positively about the future – The future can be a beautiful thing, even if it’s challenging, scary, or uncertain. Those with a healthy well-being will be able to look toward the future and think positively about whatever it may have in store. They know they’re prepared for the challenges, and they’re ready to embrace new experiences.
Signs Your Well-Being Could Use Some Work
If you’ve been neglecting your well-being, there are signs pointing to this as well. A couple ways you can tell you should invest more into your own well-being are:
- Everyday life feels overwhelming – When you’re living with poor well-being, you’re living in a state of stress. Your comfort is not being prioritized, and you’re fighting an uphill battle with yourself as well as what challenges life may have in store. If everyday life feels overwhelming, there’s a good chance your well-being needs a bit of work.
- You’re satisfied with complacency – Complacency or stagnation should feel boring, unchallenging, or frustrating if your well-being is in a positive state. If you’re satisfied with never striving for better or trying to progress, it could be a sign that self-care needs to be prioritized.
