The journey of compassionate leadership is an ongoing one. You’ll take steps forward, you might take steps backward, but as long as you’re learning to embrace your best self, you’re always winning. Spiritual leadership in 2024 has a few focus points that today’s women in business should consider if they’re looking to make professional progress goals in the new year. A few tools to develop to become a better compassionate leader this year are:
• Get to know your team – Getting to know your team means really getting to know your team. Beyond the surface level, getting to know what makes them tick and what lights the fire inside of them is important to helping them become their best selves. At Technalink we believe that aligning your vibration to your team is necessary to operate as a single, cohesive, strong unit, and this cannot be done without really getting to know who a person is on the inside. Going into 2024, you may want to set a goal to spend real time aligning yourself with those around you.
• Listen more – Without realizing it, most people listen to speak rather than listening to listen. This is where a great deal of miscommunication comes from, all of which can be avoided by simply stopping, listening, and really hearing what a person is trying to say before even thinking about formulating a response. In 2024, setting a goal to actively listen more can aid your communication in both personal and professional relationships.
• Take breaks – Many leaders believe that they need to put forth their full effort all of the time. They may feel guilty when they take time for themselves, finding themselves bogged down by thoughts of all the things they could be doing during any single moment. Compassionate leaders need to be compassionate to themselves as well, and this means allowing yourself to take breaks without guilt. In the new year, focus more on taking time for yourself and take note of how it improves your emotional well-being and your leadership.
At Technalink our leaders respect the journey and the growth involved with compassionate leadership. Each year, having goals to strive toward gives you direction on your own leadership path. At the end of the year, reflect on these goals and use them to create new goals to continue your progress going forward.
