Mindfulness Reminders To Keep Your Practice Natural

November 13, 2023 by Alka Dhillon Leave a Comment

Mindfulness Reminders To Keep Your Practice NaturalAt Technalink, we encourage our teams to make mindfulness a natural and fluid part of their day. After making it a part of your regular routine, you’ll soon discover it simply becomes a smooth and natural thing that simply occurs – you won’t even need to think about it. Before getting to that point, however, mindfulness does take quite a bit of practice. The best way to practice mindfulness is to remind yourself to be mindful regularly throughout your day. Allowing yourself to get wrapped up in the stress and anxiety of a busy life leaves no room to live in the moment, and no room to see any situation for what it truly is.

Mindful living is living in the moment, living in the present, and looking at the world in an authentic and unbiased way. A few reminders you can use to make mindfulness a more natural part of your life are:

  • Use tokens – Tokens are something you can see or feel that remind you to practice mindfulness whenever you’re reminded of the object. Mala prayer beads, loose meditation stones like garnet, and other small items make perfect mindfulness tokens. Not only can you be reminded to remain mindful when you interact with these objects, but their energies also make them perfect for practice in mindful meditation sessions.
  • Schedule mindful time in your everyday routine – Most people have a routine they stick to (or try to stick to) each day. You may get up, brush your teeth, make coffee, have breakfast, gather your things, head to the office, and so on during the average day, creating a schedule you simply stick to without thinking much else about it. Scheduling mindfulness periods into your routine can make the practice just as “second nature” as any other part of your day.
  • Set alarms – There is nothing wrong with little reminders for anything, and this goes for mindful moments as well. Setting quiet alarms throughout the day to focus on mindfulness ensures you won’t forget even if your schedule grows hectic. For mindfulness, keep your alarm soothing and calm, and choose a tone that is different from other alarms you may use for other reminders.

As you practice mindfulness regularly, you’ll soon begin to find that putting yourself in a mindful space grows easier. You’ll be able to conquer stress, beat anxiety, and take in every moment as it comes.
