Learning To Resolve Conflict Is Essential

November 12, 2021 by Alka Dhillon Leave a Comment

Learning To Resolve Conflict Is EssentialCompassionate leadership is a goal that every entrepreneur should strive for. At Technalink, we’ve already seen the benefits to the workplace the general morale of management employees when people are treated with empathy and understanding.

Unfortunately, just because someone practices compassionate leadership, that doesn’t mean there won’t sometimes be conflicts in the workplace. When this happens, people in leadership positions must be prepared to deal with them in a way consistent with empathy and justice.

Mediate The Conflict

When something happens between employees, it’s always best to deal with it as quickly as possible. One of the best ways to do this is to have a private meeting in a neutral space where the parties involved can talk about the issue. It’s important to listen to both sides and make sure that both sides get their say.

Active listening is crucial during this phase, as is not playing favorites. Everyone must get the time and attention to point out what the issue is as they see it.

Investigate

Once you have the story from both sides, it’s time to conduct your own investigation. Even people with the best intentions may not know everything when they tell their side of the story, so it’s important to get as much information yourself since you are the objective, neutral party here.

Talk to each of the people involved again, one on one, then talk to others that may have seen or been involved in the conflict and have their own insights about the issue.

Get Consent For Your Solution

When you’re ready to implement a solution, make sure that both parties know about it. It’s never a good idea to exclude one side or another from the workings of a solution. Make sure they are informed, they understand, and they agree to how the implementation will go.

If it helps, you can also incorporate meditation practices for yourself or businesses, using accessories like prayer beads.
