Are You A Compassionate Leader?

August 31, 2020 by Alka Dhillon Leave a Comment

Are You A Compassionate Leader?Compassion is not a word often associated with business leaders. However, we find that the best leaders with the OM factor are those who are compassionate in addition to being mindful, spiritual, and ambitious. Compassion is the ability to see things from others’ perspective. Leaders who have it do not just empathize; they also see each employee as essential to the organization.

Here are some questions you can ask yourself to find out if you are a compassionate leader:

1. Do you take the time to understand your employees’ needs and encourage dialogue within the organization?
2. Do you prioritize your employees in your decisions?
3. Do you tailor your responses to situations and challenges?
4. Do you maintain work-life balance and encourage your employees to engage in the practice as well?
5. Do you regularly engage in self-reflection and urge your employees to do the same?
6. Do you make it a point to empower when providing constructive feedback?
7. Do you admit and hold yourself accountable for your own mistakes?
8. Do you make an effort to form authentic relationships with your employees?
9. Do you uphold your responsibility to be ethical in your decisions?
10. Do you mindfully and intentionally act with compassion?

How many yeses did you get? Which aspects of your leadership still need work? As leaders, we have to constantly improve on our work. The OM Factor, which you can listen to right now, can serve as your guide toward compassionate and spiritual leadership. Being a compassionate leader requires that you first be compassionate toward yourself.

Why Choose Compassionate Leadership?

Compassionate leadership helps brings only good things to your organization. It fosters goodwill among employees, which reduces employee turnover and encourages commitment and innovation. We at Technalink have witnessed how compassionate leadership trickles down to everyone in the organization. Compassion and mindfulness are not mere business tools but are ways of living that can impact your organization and personal life.
