Garnet stones meditation is a great way to meditate for courage and self-empowerment, and holding these stones in your hands during mindful meditation sessions brings to you certain energies you may not be able to find otherwise. However, each time you use your loose garnet stones during meditation you are putting oils onto the stones simply by keeping them in the palm of your hands or moving them through your fingers. As these oils build up, they can begin to break down garnet stones making them more susceptible to damage. Learning how to care for your garnet stones ensures they’ll stick around for many more successful meditation sessions in the future.
After every couple of times, you use your garnet stones, you can keep them oil-free by wiping them down with a soft and untextured cloth. This polishing process should be done not with a towel or any cloth that one can feel the texture on the surface of, but with fabric like a broken in, soft, and clean T-shirt or special gemstone polishing rag. Regular wiping is a simple and effective way to keep your garnet stones shining bright and free from damage.
If your garnet stones have a bit more oil or dust buildup than what a simple wipe down with a soft cloth can handle, you can wash them with a mild soap and water solution. Garnet stones should not be cleaned regularly or too often using water, but every once in a while is just fine. To make the mild solution, mix around a half of a cup of warm water with 2 drops of a mild dish soap, and stir the solution until the soap is fully dissolved into the water. Place your garnet stones into the solution and gently rub the surface of the stones with your fingers until all residue has been washed away, then dry with a soft untextured cloth.
With regular care, your garnet stones should be able to last you a lifetime of mindful meditation. At Technalink, we use garnet stone meditation to impart love, courage, and compassion into meditation sessions, aiding in our ability to use compassionate leadership every day!
