4 Ways To Improve Mindfulness In Your Workplace

December 4, 2017 by Alka Dhillon Leave a Comment

ways-you-can-use-active-empathy-in-your-workplaceWhat is mindfulness? It’s the quality of being conscious or aware, and it’s something that adds quite a bit to your workplace. Whether it’s your mindful leadership or spreading the idea of mindfulness throughout your business, it brings a lot of benefits to your everyday professional life. 4 ways to improve mindfulness in your workplace are:

1. Provide a transition time – It’s difficult to be mindful when you’re shuffling from place to place throughout your day. After meetings or tasks, advocating for a transition period can help employees to remember to be mindful and to clear their mind before going to one task from another. In this transition period, employees should be encouraged to look within, observe their feelings both physical and emotional, and clear their mind before moving on to the next thing.

2. Take mindfulness breaks – Aside from transition periods, taking 1 minute long mindfulness breaks throughout your day can help to improve your mindfulness overall. These breaks can be taken between 3 and 5 times per day, and they can help to make you aware of any stresses or anxieties bringing you down before they grow to an extreme level. You’ll be more aware of your body, your mind, and your environment, as you regroup yourself using a quick and easy mindfulness exercise.

3. Introduce meditation – Meditation doesn’t require a special location, a lot of time, or special skills. The OM Factor Rx kit comes with the stones and the steps to introduce meditation to your workplace, and a short meditation session can be the perfect opportunity to shut your mind off from the outside, and to look within for a mindfulness practice.

4. Focus on what you love – This is a practice of positive mindfulness, and focusing on what you love can make you aware of what you appreciate and what you work for, and it’s a great technique to use when you’re feeling a bit down or stressed. At work, you can take a moment to recognize how you feel, what you love about your job, and how these factors are a driving force for your productivity.

When it comes to soulful leadership, we at Technalink know the many benefits of mindfulness in your workplace. By using these strategies to welcome mindfulness, you’ll find yourself with a more productive, more inspired, and more positive environment.
