Starting Out In Workplace Meditation

October 9, 2017 by Alka Dhillon Leave a Comment

Starting Out In Workplace Meditation At Technalink, we know that the most difficult part of starting out in workplace mediation is just that – the start. Implementing something new within the workplace is always a challenge, and getting employees into a new mindset and new routine can be difficult. Using meditation beads is a great way to comfortably introduce meditation to the workplace, particularly when a guide is included like in the OM Factor Rx Kit with a copy of The OM Factor.

When starting out in workplace meditation, it’s sometimes best to start out with the “why”. Workplace meditation is something that some of your team or staff will jump on board with immediately, either knowing the many benefits of workplace meditation or having some experience with meditation as a whole, but this won’t be everyone. When it comes to spirituality and meditation in the workplace, you will have some skeptics who aren’t quite sure, and using soulful leadership to explain the “why” will help them to understand the motivation behind the decision and the benefits it brings.

Next, you’ll want to engage. A meeting with an idea about workplace meditation can be easy to forget, particularly for those skeptics, so fun engagement as a reminder is a great idea. To remind your workplace about set times for group meditations, or even perhaps a meditation class, use flyers in areas where employees congregate or send out e-mails that include a couple fun meditation facts to get your group interested and excited. Giving out mala beads to use in meditation also serves as a great reminder.

If you plan to implement a program that includes regular group meditation sessions, you’ll then want to consider when they’re most useful. If there are certain times of the week or month that lull a bit before things get really hectic, this could be the perfect time to schedule some time to meditate. The meditation session can help to clear the minds of your employees and tackle the difficult hurdle in a clearer and more focused way.

Lastly, set up your space. Group meditation sessions in the workplace can take place anywhere, but they will be much easier to get wrapped up in to if the area they’re meditating in is prepared. If you have a quiet conference room or outdoor courtyard, that’s just the environment you want to prepare for your group session. Make sure the temperature is ambient, the feel is comfortable, and it’s a place where employees know they can let go of their worries and relax.
