Introducing Meditation To The Workplace

May 24, 2017 by Alka Dhillon Leave a Comment

Introducing Meditation To The Workplace Meditation. It’s more than just a buzzword, and science is continually uncovering new benefits that the human body and mind can experience as a result of regular meditation. Lower stress levels, improved happiness, and even better physical health can all be experienced as a result of meditation. And at Technalink, we believe that adding meditation to the workplace is something that can help businesses today thrive in tremendous ways. It’s a direct extension of spiritual management, and something worth doing.

While it might seem difficult at first, the reality is that introducing meditation into your business is something that is simple to do and that can provide a boost to your bottom line. Here are some tips to help make it easier to make it a part of the workday.

  • Start by introducing the idea and the basic principles of meditation to your employees. Hopefully, they’re already aware of your belief in spiritual management but if not, explaining the fundamentals of meditation will help them understand your goals. You may provide guidance on your own or use various resources or teachers to help with meditation, but at the heart of the process is just making sure that your team understands how to meditate.
  • Consider providing your employees with garnet stones or meditation beads to help guide them during their meditation efforts. It’s a simple step that can not only help them reach better results during meditation, but will also show them that you’re serious about the process and about helping them become more spiritual in their efforts.
  • Set up a specific time of day for meditation or reflection, and be sure that your employees understand its importance. This can be just a 5 or 10 minute block of time – just enough for a quick exercise in meditation – but should be done at the same time every day. This way, it becomes a part of the daily routine and something that everyone in the company expects and appreciates.
  • Be sure to talk to employees about how they use the meditation time. Prayer, meditation, or just silent reflection are all effective. You want to be inclusive of everyone’s approach while still providing them with the opportunity to meditate.

Meditation can help promote a happier, healthier working environment, lower workplace conflicts, better employee morale and loyalty, and even directly improve your company’s bottom line. Taking simple steps to introduce it to your daily routine is one of the best moves you can make for your business’ future – and one of the easiest.
