Meditation Techniques You Can Use At Work

Meditation Techniques You Can Use At Work Stress happens, and when it happens to you, you’ll need to find a way to center yourself and look within in order to find peace. Part of a spiritual workplace is remaining compassionate and calm, always looking to connect with yourself and with others, and being under great stress can really make this difficult. When you feel overwhelmed at work, meditation can be an immense help, and finding time and ways to meditate at work is actually quite simple. Even during your busiest days, which coincidentally when you’re like to be most stressed, you can find time to get a little peace.

A few meditation techniques you can use at work are:

  • Inner smile – The inner smile technique is incredibly simple to do, and while it may feel a little awkward at first, you’ll soon grow to love it! It only takes a couple of minutes, and you can do it anywhere. First close your eyes, then simply smile like you would smile at another person. Instead of smiling at someone else, however, focus the smile back at yourself, and picture yourself smiling at your own face. The act of smiling, and seeing a smile, has been proven to uplift the mood, and you’ll soon find that you can lift your own mood by simply smiling at you!
  • Do a body scan – This type of meditation can be done with eyes open or closed, and it can really be done in just a couple of minutes from anywhere. From the outside, it will appear that you’re just thinking, but on the inside, you’ll be doing a number to decrease the stress and tension in your body. First start with a few deep breaths, then start from your feet working your way up, feeling and releasing all of the tension in your body. Focus on each body part, how it feels, and how you can relax it one by one.
  • Visualize calm – With your eyes closed, simply picture a place you’d love to be, or a place that makes you feel positive and relaxed. Send your entire consciousness to this place, and smell the smells, feel the air, and hear the sounds surrounding you. What you’re doing is sending your spirit to another place to release the stress and the tension it’s feeling, and you can transport back whenever you’d like to return back in a state of calm.

When times get tough, meditation can really provide the answer, and help you to seek answers to any situation from within yourself. When bringing spirituality into the workplace, meditation provides a huge help, and it can serve as a way to connect you with you, with your employees, and with the objectives that will allow you to propel yourself to success.
