The Benefits Of Solving Conflicts With Compassion

January 13, 2016 by Alka Dhillon Leave a Comment

The Benefits Of Solving Conflicts With Compassion In your personal and professional life, you can expect conflicts to come about. Conflict is a part of life, and when creative people join together to share ideas, heads with butt from time to time. At Technalink, we take a compassionate approach to workplace conflicts, and this helps us to take these troubles and turn them into something positive. When conflict arises, whether in a personal or professional setting, it can be tough to think about the other side and try to see things from their point of view, but showing this kind of compassion can make all the difference in effective and positive conflict resolution.

The first step in learning to solve conflicts with compassion is to know just what compassion is. Compassion can be defined as an ability to feel empathy for others, to see from their point of view and consider their feelings on any type of matter. When both of the parties in a conflict can see things in a compassionate light, you can see how the conflict won’t last long! Parties may want their way, but they’ll be able to see where the other person is coming from, and caring compromise will be made much simpler.

As a positive leader, it will be your job to bring the compassion to conflicts with employees who may not have embraced compassionate conflict resolution yet. In these instances, it will be you standing between both of the conflicting parties and seeing their points of view in an unbiased and empathetic fashion, taking in their thoughts on the matter and thinking about how things can be resolved in a positive light for all. In working with both of the conflicting parties together, you may find that you can show them what compassionate conflict resolution is all about, and they’ll be more apt to adopt it in their own lives.

Compassion is something that can benefit our personal and professional lives in so many ways, and conflict resolution is made simple work when it’s done compassionately. By seeing both sides of the argument, and respecting them equally, a conflict can be solved in a way that makes both parties satisfied, and lessons can be learned in the process. At Technalink, compassion is always in the forefront of all of our conflict resolution strategies, and we think that this is something you’ll find incredibly beneficial to adopt as well.
