Taking The Leap – Seemingly Irrational Choices And Their Positive Outcomes

Taking The Leap - Seemingly Irrational Choices And Their Positive OutcomesAt Technalink, we often hear stories about all kinds of business decisions, and we always find it interesting how different the results can be. We are certainly familiar with companies who follow all the best business practices, and may still be struggling to find their flow for expansion. Conversely, we have also heard about a lot of not so common decisions that have lead to great achievements.

Innovators Or Followers

This also brings us to an important part of making foundational plans for a new business, as much of the progress can already be a blueprint within this design. However, any company plan, no matter how it is structured, does still have the potential to change and grow, based on the energy that the owner puts into it and the manner in which this aligns with staff. To that end, it is also important for start-up entrepreneurs to remember that change throughout the process is a positive solution to challenges.

One big difference between different foundational companies is the intent behind the endeavor, and the emotions that owners have regarding this will impact success. For some entrepreneurs, the true intent is simply to make money, life a better lifestyle, and to be able to support the family, and there is nothing wrong with this motivation. Although the approach would be considered that of a follower, in that the goal is to grow a business for profits, the energy behind the motivation is focused and has an impassioned drive.

While other business owners may still consider the above points as a part of their motivation, the stronger intent may be the idea itself. In this case, there is also a strongly emotionally driven motivation, but because of the innovative focus, these owners will still apply best practices, while also testing out ones that have not been tried. As a result, decisions that may appear irrational or outside of the box will still result in a positive outcome.

Just Outside The Box

Business owners should also remember that any current best practices are only so because someone had the courage to see if it would work. In this way, irrational decisions become slightly less so, especially when the positive outcomes can be replicated. Although it can seem daunting to take that leap, it is also important to remember that if traditional methods have not been working, then some other solution must be present.

A final word on making choices that may seem irrational to others is the fact that it also gives business owners the chance to further empower themselves. Spending some time looking within, journaling, or in meditation can allow people to feel the right choice, and use this awareness to guide them. By looking within, individuals are also able to trust their own knowledge of process and success, which results in beneficial outcomes that can also mean personal expansion.
