Is Your Professional Motivation An Illusion?

Is Your Professional Motivation An Illusion?Small business owners face a number of challenges, especially when they are in the early stages of an enterprise. However, even when growth and sustainability are achieved, it can still seem as though too many professional challenges are arising. At Technalink, we have found that the most common reason for this occurrence is actually due to a lack of alignment with self.

This can be a complicated and slightly convoluted concept to illuminate, but we have also found that as people draw on personal experience in relation to the idea, it also gains a better foundation in the manifest.

Generic Case Study

The following is actually an amalgamation of several entrepreneurs that we have worked with, but it is important to note that the core circumstances are what is similar. One small business owner had initially started a company out of desperation, as they had fallen on hard economic times, and still had a family to support. The industry itself was irrelevant, as the motivation was to regain prosperity and achieve a comfortable lifestyle for family and self.

After the company had stabilized to sustainability and was now seeing growth, the owner was finding that they were still having to fight for clients or leads at every step of the way. On the surface, the business itself was in wonderful shape, with a strong foundation and much potential to expand. However, for the owner, there seemed to be nothing but strife in achieving this.

Once the owner had gone through some introspection, he realized that his professional motivation had changed as prosperity grew. The initial motivation was two part, in that it was both about financial means, and family lifestyle comfort. In the midst of building the company, the owner had become overly focused on the bottom line, and had lost sight of the secondary goal.

In readjusting his perspective to align with his energy of expression, he also came to find that corporate operations began to flow more organically, the more he honored his professional goal of a better family life. In this manner, he became mindful of his true intent, and thus was able to follow this motivation to a better expression of business and self.
